Amiga was a line of personal computers made by Commodore. Although famed for its multimedia capabilities, the line was greeted by low sales and was discontinued in 1996.[1] The company is probably best known by the Amiga 500 which was released in 1987. This model was the company's most popular product. For a period of almost ten years from late 1980 to early 1990, Amiga became one of the leading personal computer producers. However, they soon began to loose market share until they went out of business shortly after.[2]

Operating system of Amiga computers[edit]

AmigaOS is the operating system for the Amiga line of personal computers. [3] After Commodores demise, other developers took control of the operating systems future, a ro,e currently filled by Hyperion Entertainment.
