Amish in Michigan particularly flourish with its relatively cool climate, and its local hospitality in conservative parts of the state. Michigan Amish Churches are considered a subgroup of the Old Order Amish by being more welcome to outsiders, called "seekers".
By 2022, the Amish population grew to 11,000, including 86 churches in 35 communities.[1] Many of the communities are in central and west-central Michigan, but there is also a community in the Upper Peninsula and in northeast Michigan.
