Amish in Pennsylvania

From Conservapedia - Reading time: 1 min

Amish in Pennsylvania is the largest Amish population of any state or Canadian province, and growing rapidly. In 2022, the Amish population in Pennsylvania is nearly 87,000, a growth of 7% in merely 2 years since 2020, and 100% in the roughly 20 years since 2000. A total of 53 Amish communities exist across this state.[1]

Pennsylvania has a good climate for Amish, with winters cold enough to allow the harvesting of ice, and plenty of affordable farmland. Historically, Pennsylvania is also where the Amish first settled in the United States.

The oldest and largest Amish community in the United States is located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, containing 179 church districts as of 2010.[1]
