Andrew "Andy" Kim is a diplomat and Democrat politician serving as the current U.S. representative from New Jersey's 3rd district.
Kim was elected to the United States House of Representatives in 2018 during a blue wave, supposedly defeating Republican then-incumbent Tom MacArthur by just over 1% of the vote.[2]
Kim is a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.
Rep. Kim voted along with his party line in favor of the impeachment coup against Donald Trump, arguing that the president violated his powers and committed an impeachable offense.[3] Kim was subsequently called out by a 2020 Republican challenger as a phony “moderate” who pulled a bait and switch scheme to get elected.[4]
Kim ran for re-election to a second term in 2020.[5] According to The Cook Political Report, Kim is facing a tossup.[6]
Kim is a leftist who supports unrestricted abortion, the Obamacare mandate, gun control, and spending bills.[7]
