The Anglican Church of Canada (ACC) is a liberal mainline Protestant church in Canada. It is in full communion with the Anglican Communion, and until 1955 was known as the Church of England in Canada. Much like the Episcopal Church of the United States, it has accepted female bishops and homosexual "marriages" which go against the traditional Anglican belief that marriage is a sacramental union between one man and one woman. It claims 1.6 million adherents [1] and is the third largest Christian church in Canada. The Anglican Church in North America is a splinter group that broke off the Anglican Church of Canada and the Episcopal Church. Fred Hiltz is the primate of the ACC. The ACC is headquartered in Toronto.
