Antisemitism in universities

From Conservapedia - Reading time: 2 min

Antisemitism in universities is a growing threat in higher education, particularly in Western nations, resulting from anti-Israel propaganda which escalates into harassment, threats, and even violent attacks against Jewish students. Anti-Zionist movements including BDS promoted by anti-American media outlets such as Al-Jazeera have been known to incite antisemitic hatred, which in recent years is viewed upon with increasing concern as neo-Marxists, who continue their grip on academic institutions, facilitate and enable such virulent bigotry.

Despite insistence by anti-Israel activists that their irrational hatred, discrimination, and vilification of the world's single Jewish state constitutes mere "criticism" and is unrelated to antisemitism, a study in 2021 firmly concluded that Jew-hatred on colleges is fueled by anti-Zionist groups.[1]

UC Berkeley creates "Jewish-free zones"[edit]

In late September 2022, the University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley), was condemned after student groups of the elite college created a rule banning anyone with pro-Israel opinions from speaking at events.[2] In a signed statement by the nine groups written by Berkeley Law Students for Justice in Palestine, the manifesto claimed to defend Palestinian students and vowed not to invite "speakers that have expressed and continued to hold views… in support of Zionism, the apartheid state of Israel, and the occupation of Palestine."

Although neo-Marxist activists have claimed that the horrendous actions of the student groups did not constitute creating a literal "Jewish-free zone," pro-Zionist Jews have countered that anti-Zionism and caricaturist slanders of Israel constitute attacks on Jewish origins and intrinsic roots.[3]
