The Arctic Ocean (5.4 million square miles)[1] is the smallest of the world's oceans; surrounds the North Pole, and much of it is seasonally or permanently icebound.

It is home to polar bears, walrus, belugas, narwhals, harp seals, and various other Arctic wildlife.

It is bordered by Norway, Russia, Alaska, Canada, and Greenland.[2]
