Arlington, Virginia is a suburb of Washington, D.C., located in the state of Virginia. While it is commonly considered to be a city, it is legally a county containing no incorporated cities or towns. The county covers approximately 26 square miles and has a population of approximately 216,004 in 2011,[1] giving it a population density of about 8,000 persons per square mile.[2] Arlington's population is 9.1% Black and 15.2% Hispanic.[1] Arlington's population is well-educated with 92.5% being high-school graduates and 70.1% holding batchelor or higher degrees.[1]
Arlington is home to Marymount University and the George Mason University Law School.
