Asahel

From Conservapedia - Reading time: 1 min

Asahel was a fighter for David in his conflict with Saul as recorded in the Bible. His brother Joab was the leader of David's forces. Asahel was described as one of the 30 mighty men.[1]

Asahel was "fleet of foot"[2] and at the Battle of Gibeon he purposely sought out Abner, the leading of the opposing side, to fight. Abner tried to dissuade him, but Asahel was determined and finally Abner had no choice but to kill him.[3] He was buried at his father's tomb in Bethlehem.[4]
