The Baltimore Orioles are a Major League Baseball team in the American League Eastern Division. The Baltimore Orioles are based in Baltimore, Maryland.
The Orioles were founded in 1893, as the Milwaukee, Wisconsin franchise in the minor Western League (later the American League) and later moved to St. Louis as the St. Louis Browns. Unable to support two teams in a small market (and with the St. Louis Cardinals having better on-field success), the Browns relocated to Baltimore.
