Beauregard

The Confederate privateer schooner Beauregard (ex-Priscilla C. Ferguson) was captured by William G. Anderson in the Bahama Channel 12 November 1861; purchased from the Key West Prize Court 24 February 1862; and commissioned 28 March 1862, Acting Master D. Stearns in command.


Beauregard captured ten blockade runners while serving with the East Gulf Blockading Squadron along the Florida coast (April 1862-June 1865). She also took part in attacks on Tampa (2 April 1863) and New Smyrna (28 July 1863), Fla. The schooner was sold at Key West, Fla., 28 June 1865.[1]
