Big Band

From Conservapedia - Reading time: 1 min

Big Band is a jazz musical style, performed by a jazz orchestra, usually of nine or more elements. Its golden age was from about 1930 to about 1960. Big band jazz orchestras perform a fully or partially improvised music full of swing and energy, with usually several soloists alternating choruses.

The most famous Big Band jazz orchestra of all times is that of Duke Ellington. Other famous jazz orchestras were those of Count Basie, Benny Goodman and Glenn Miller.
