Breckinridge County, Kentucky

From Conservapedia - Reading time: 1 min

Breckinridge County, Kentucky, is a rural county having a population of only about 18,000. The public school board is the largest employer in the county.

It is the location of a lawsuit by the ACLU to prevent the school system from improving education by separating boys and girls in some classes. Studies have shown, and the U.S. Department of Education has approved, the use of single-sex classes in order to improve academic achievement. But the ACLU is suing to prohibit this, and is seeking attorneys fees as part of its action.[1]

This lawsuit by the ACLU, which chose this Kentucky forum probably to maximize its chances of success, threatens similar programs in at least 392 public schools in the United States.
