The Caribbean Sea is a body of water bounded by the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico to the east and west, and North and South America.

It has a tropical climate, and features many island groups. This makes the area a popular destination for tourists. Historically, it plays a big part in many pirate legends, since the endless small islands created a haven for criminals on the run, and provided many exotic locales to bury treasure.
