Carinthia

From Conservapedia - Reading time: 1 min

Carinthia is a historical region of Slovenia. From 883 to 972 it was a March of the Frankish kingdom. Then it became a duchy and stayed one until the beginning of the 20th century. Until the 15th century the capital was Šentvid (also St. Veit) and after that Celovec (also Klagenfurt). In 1918, it was divided between Austria and Yugoslavia. The Yugoslavian part became a part of the Drava banovina. Today, Carinthia is the name of both an Austrian and a Slovenian region.
