Charles Taylor (born January 28, 1948) was from 1997 to 2003 the dictator of Liberia. During the First Civil War in Liberia he was a Warlord. In the 1990s he was elected as president but after a second civil war and the challenge of George W. Bush he was forced to resign.[1] In his tenure he was criticized for the infringement of freedom of the press and the detention of political prisoners. In 2013 he was sentenced for 50 years prison.[2]
