Christian Sarkine Autism Treatment Center

The Christian Sarkine Autism Treatment Center, located in Indianapolis, is one "is one of two academic and research programs on autism in the state of Indiana" which is "actively treating over 600 children, making it one of the busiest autism treatment centers in the country."[1] It is part of the Riley Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic at Riley Hospital, which is one of the five largest children's hospitals in the United States."[1]

This autism center emphasizes a psychiatric approach to treating autism, and its intervention includes:[1]

  • behavioral strategies
  • counseling
  • speech and language therapy
  • medication management

Psychiatrist Dr. Christopher McDougle, who did a fellowship in child psychiatry at the Yale Child Study Center, has led this program.
