Classicism

From Conservapedia - Reading time: 1 min

Classicism, a movement in art, based on antique and Renaissance heritage and is often times associated specifically with architecture. Influenced in part by the work of Andrea Palladio, it lasted roughly from 1600 until 1800. As a movement classicism looked back to the arts of the classic period (pagan Greece and Rome) and sought inspiration there.[1]

Classicism is also descriptive as an association to certain beliefs spanning St. Thomas Aquinas to Thomas Jefferson.[2]

President Trump signed an executive order with regard to making buildings in D.C. look like their classical origins.[3][4]
