A club is a congregation of people united by a common characteristic (a goal, an interest, etc.). There are a multitude of clubs such as sport clubs, political clubs. religious clubs, etc.

A club is also a simple blunt weapon, usually made of wood and can be wielded with one hand. It is the simplest of all weapons, and has other names such as baton, cudgel, night-stick, and bludgeon. Persons who are wounded by a club are regarded as bludgeoned.
