From Conservapedia - Reading time: 1 min

Colchester (pre-Roman name Camulodunum) is a historic market town in England. It lies on the River Colne and is about 50 miles northeast of London. It was the first Roman-founded city in Britain, and is claimed to be Britain's oldest recorded town. At one time it was the capital of Roman Britain. The earliest record of the town's existence is a reference by the Roman writer, Pliny the Elder in AD 77.[1][2]

The population of Colchester in 2014 was 180,400.[3]
