The Correspondence Principle in physics means that a new scientific theory must give the same results as an established theory under conditions for which the established theory has already been verified.

An example of the Correspondence Principle is that for velocity much less than the speed of light, the new scientific Theory of Special Relativity yields the same result as Newtonian mechanics.
