Cotton Gin

From Conservapedia - Reading time: 1 min

The Cotton Gin is a machine for separating cotton fiber from sticky cotton seeds.[1] It was invented by Eli Whitney in 1793. It increased the profitability of growing cotton inland (where the viable cotton varieties had sticky seeds) and thus increased the value of cotton fields. The cotton gin is notable because it is considered to have increased the need for slaves in the south, and further entrenched slavery in that part of the United States.
