Cumberland

Cumberland is a former county of north-west England, forming the northern and western part of the present-day county of Cumbria, created in 1974. It included the city of Carlisle and the towns of Cockermouth, Maryport, Workington and Whitehaven, as well as much of the Lake District national park.
