From Conservapedia - Reading time: 1 min

Nicholas of Kues (1401 – 1464) - Latinized to Nicolaus Cusanus was a German philosopher, a theologian, a cardinal, a lawyer, and an astronomer. He was probably the first great thinker in the early modern period to approach the problem of mathematical infinity.

The Cusanuswerk, which supports distinguished Catholic students in Germany is named in his honor.
