Davidson v. Loudoun County Board of Supervisors[1] is a case in the Eastern District Court of Virginia considering the novel question of First Amendment rights of citizens on their elected official's facebook pages. The Chair of the County Board blocked Davidson from her facebook page. The County had adopted a social media policy allowing for citizen comments, and Davidson alleged that the blocking violated that policy. The defendant claimed that the page was her personal facebook page, but it is different than her facebook profile. On January 4, 2017, the District Court denied both the Defendant's motion to dismiss and the Plaintiff's motion for summary judgment.
