A dictionary is a book that contains an alphabetized listing of ideally all known words in a particular language. Typically, the meanings of the words are given along with their origin, accepted spelling, pronunciation, part of speech, and plurals. Some dictionaries also include example sentences or words translated from other languages. The creation of dictionaries can be a dynamic process, due to languages continually developing new words. Dictionaries can be subject to bias just like any other reference source through the way definitions are presented and the exclusion of certain views. (See Liberal Bias in Popular Dictionaries)
