Donald E. Westlake (1933 – 2008) was an American writer. He wrote using several pseudonyms over a hundred novels (crime fiction and science fiction) and non-fiction books.

Donald E. Westlake is a three-time Edgar winner and the recipient of the Grandmaster award. He is the author of more than 40 novels, including "The Hook", "The Ax", "Two Much" and "The Grifters".[1] His pseudonyms included Richard Stark, Tucker Coe, Curt Clark, Samuel Holt, Timothy J. Culver, J. Morgan Cunningham, and Judson Jack Carmichael.[2] Many of his works were published in Playboy.[3]
