In Enemy of the State (1998), labor lawyer Robert Dean (Will Smith) is having a bad day that's about to get worse. He's been threatened by a mafioso, and a former acquaintance has just died violently (almost in front of his eyes). It all has to do with a murder that a spy agency official ordered to further his ambition for power.
He's got a son who's a video game addict, a housekeeper, and a politically-conscious wife (who has a small dog). He's about to lose this happy home when spy agency goons find out he has a tape of the murder.
