A flash mob is a hastily assembled group of protesters or stunt performers, often with a silly or innocuous purpose. A significant part of the fun for the group is the quick assembly and/or dispersal. Sometimes they meet in a staging area first; other times they coordinate by email or cell-phone text messages.
