Goldsmith Defense

The Goldsmith Defense in chess consists of black moving its king's rook's pawn forward two spaces (h5) in response to the standard King's Pawn Opening by white (e4). This is also known as the Pickering Defense.
The Goldsmith Defense is considered to be unorthodox and generally not successful. But it can create confusion by white, particularly in a game of blitz (high-speed) chess.
