Graz

From Conservapedia - Reading time: 1 min

Graz is the second biggest city in Austria, with ca. 253,000 inhabitants. Arnold Schwarzenegger is often mentioned in connection with Graz: he was born and raised in the nearby village of Thal, and attended school in Graz for a couple of years. The soccer stadium was named in his honor in 1996, but renamed in 2005.

A famous son of the city is the architect Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach (1656-1723).

The Karl-Franzens-Universität in Graz was founded in 1585 and attracted some very important scholars who studied or taught there, e.g., Johannes Kepler, Ludwig Boltzmann, Walther Nernst and Erwin Schrödinger.
