The Immortals were a group of 10,000 elite Persian soldiers. They were called the "Immortals" because there were always exactly 10,000 soldiers in the group, and those who died were quickly replaced. They have been portrayed as ninjas with Greek tragedy masks and two swords (one significantly smaller than the other) in the epic film 300.
