Institute of Modern Politics (IMP) is an independent Bulgarian policy institute established by Borislav Tsekov[1] - a public figure, lawyer and politician (MP 2001-2005). Members of the organization are legal practitioners and academics, human rights advocates, political science experts, sociologists and former government officials.
Since 2009 IMP focuses its main activities on National Parliament and legislative developments. The organization functions as watchdog body which monitors compliance of parliamentary conduct and legislation in Bulgaria with European Union good governance principles and human rights standards laid down in European Convention on Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. IMP issues 3-monthly monitoring reports widely covered by the media which analyze influence of private and corporate interests on legislation, efficiency of parliamentary scrutiny over executive branch and assesses legislation from human rights and good governance perspective [1] [2] [3] [4].
