Islamophilia

Islamophilia refers to hysterical, irrational and uncritical admiration of Islamic culture and beliefs which is present in many Muslim countries and often in the Western world among liberals. Islamophilia in the Muslim world is characterized by celebration of popular Islamic beliefs, rejection of Westernization and rejection of secularization (e.g., religious freedom for non-Muslims). In several Muslim countries secularization is being opposed with the claim it is "cultural imposition of the West".[1] In the European Union (EU), there is a growing current of Islamophilia among many non-Muslim intellectuals.[2]
