Israel Prize

From Conservapedia - Reading time: 1 min

The Israel Prize has been awarded since 1953, and is considered perhaps the highest honor award that one can receive from the State of Israel. The Israel Prize is awarded to both citizens and organizations that have displayced excellence in their field, or have significantly contributed to the culture of Israel. The prize is awarded on the eve of Israel's Independence Day, where both the prime minister, president and speaker of the Supreme Court is president. So far, nearly half of almost 700 Israel Prize's that have been awarded so far have gone to members and faculty of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
