Jammu and Kashmir

From Conservapedia - Reading time: 1 min

Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) is a state in India. Its capital cities are Jammu (winter) and Srinagar (summer). It is the only state in India where a majority of the population (67 percent) is Muslim.[1]

Historically, it was known as the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, which was led by a Maharaja. Pakistan invaded the Jammu and Kashmir princely state in 1947, after which the Maharaja acceded to India.[2]Pakistan accuses New Delhi has attempting to alter the demography of Jammu and Kashmir by settling non-native Indians into the state, and granting them domicile status.[3] However, Pakistan themselves never had any protections for the indigenous Kashmiris in Pakistani occupied Kashmir, and has settled Punjabi Muslim settlers there.
