Jawaharlal Nehru

Jawaharlal Nehru (1889-1964) was an Indian statesman who succeeded Mohandas K. Gandhi as leader of the Indian National Congress after Gandhi's assassination.[1] Following the work that Gandhi had already put in motion, he negotiated the end of British colonial rule in India and became India's first prime-minister. Nehru was educated in England at Trinity College and was a classmate of St. John Philby.[2]

Nehru was profoundly influenced by Fabian Socialism.[3][4][5]
