Jock is a slang term for a person with athletic talent, often one who plays on a school team.

It is frequently used as and preceded by a pejorative, to refer to someone who is given special privileges not given to regular individuals, so sports eligibility may be maintained. Examples are "dumb jock" (one who gets undeserved passing grades) or "pampered jock" (one who gets indiscretions overlooked).
