John Wright Hickenlooper, Jr. (born February 7, 1952 in Narberth, Pennsylvania), a Democrat, is the former governor of Colorado. He was elected to that post on November 2, 2010. Previously he served as Mayor of Denver (2003-2011).

Hickenlooper, whom the liberal media brand as moderate, told a CNN Townhall while running for the Democratic party presidential nomination he took his mother to view a pornographic film.[3] As a sleazy capitalist who built a personal fortune preying on, profiting, and exploiting vulnerable people's alcoholic addiction in brew pubs, Hickenlooper denies being a capitalist.[4] Hickenlooper never publicly condemned the fascist violence during the 2020 Marxist insurrection.[5] Hickenlooper was a candidate in the 2020 presidential election, and later ran for Senate to unseat Cory Gardner; he previously admitted that he would not be qualified for serving as a senator.[6][7]

When governor of Colorado, Hickenlooper directed business relations between tech companies and China,[8] potentially compromising national security. Unsurprisingly, he has praised the country as a "great nation" that supposedly deserves support from Americans.[9]

2020 presidential election[edit]

Hickenlooper was booed by Democrats when he suggested moderating their stance to mask their socialist objectives.[10] Hickenlooper thinks people are still too stupid to understand that progressivism and socialism are the same thing. Hickenlooper hung up on a radio interviewer when asked about the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act.[11]

After bombing in the First Debate, Hickenlooper's campaign manager and staff bailed days later. In what had the appearance of a classic backroom deal, as soon as Hickenlooper dropped out the D.C.-based Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) endorsed him for Senate, snubbing seven local women candidates. The women immediately asked the national party to stop interfering local affairs, rescind its endorsement, and not dictate to the state party its preferred crony or stooge.[12] A deal was most likely cut between Hickenlooper and the national party, that if Hickenlooper would get out of the way and stop competing for funds in the presidential contest, he'd be the favorite of the party's D.C. fundraising machine for Senate with out-of-state money from Washington lobbyists. The deal provides a look into the insider trading for power, position, influence, and donations within the DNC establishment.

The Colorado Ethics Commission has twice voted down his motions to dismiss ongoing ethics complaints.[13]

2020 U.S. Senate election in Colorado[edit]

See main article: United States Senate election in Colorado, 2020

After dropping out of the 2020 presidential race, Hickenlooper announced his run for U.S. Senate in 2020 to unseat Republican Cory Gardner.[14] Although backed by the Democrat establishment, Hickenlooper faces a tough primary race, having lost the statewide precinct caucuses held in March 2020 to the much more progressive candidate Andrew Romanoff by a massive margin.[15]

On June 9, 2020 in a 9NEWS-held debate for the upcoming Senate election between Romanoff and Hickenlooper, the latter asserted — during his closing statement — that Cory Gardner supported Donald Trump “a hundred percent of the time”.[16] Being outright false on a strict factual basis, Gardner has voted with Trump around 89% of the time since the 115th United States Congress, but only 82% of the time for only the 116th United States Congress.[17] In addition, it's important to note that on January 4, 2018 in the Senate floor, Sen. Gardner strongly rebuked then-attorney general Jeff Sessions' marijuana crackdown despite Colorado's statewide legalization, announcing that he would oppose every Trump DOJ nomination until Sessions will reverse the decision.[18]

Despite all conspicuous flaws and traits that would normal disqualify one from such an important position, Hickenlooper defeated Gardner in the general election by nine points.[19]

Issues[edit]

A sexist, Hickenlooper made a demeaning comment about Democrat senator Kyrsten Sinema after forgetting the latter's name.[20]
