Kaunas

Kaunas is the second-largest city in Lithuania and served as the country's capital between 1920 and Lithuania's annexation by the Soviet Union in 1940. The city lies at the head of navigation on the Neman River, there joined by the tributary Viliya River and has a total population of 292,677 (2017).[1]
