Ketchikan

From Conservapedia - Reading time: 1 min

Ketchikan is the fourth largest city in Alaska. In 2000 it had a population of 7,922,[1] and it is the gateway to the Inside Passage and a major port for cruise ships. The city is most recently famous for its proposed "bridge to nowhere" that made national news as an example of government waste through the use of federal earmarks. The bridge would have connected Ketchikan, on Revillagegeido Island, to Ketchikan International Airport on Gravina Island, but funding for the project was removed following the public uproar and was used for other projects.[2]
