Loretta Sanchez (born January 7, 1960, in Lynwood, California), a Democrat, currently serves as the United States Representative from California's 46th congressional district. She was first elected the House in 1996, also to represent the 46th district, and from 2003 to 2013 she represented the 47th district. She is a member of several House of Representatives Committees: Armed Services, Homeland Security and the Joint Economic Committee.[1]
Sanchez is the lone Democrat to represent a congressional district in Orange County and is a member of the Blue Dog and New Democrat Coalitions. She is the sister of Rep. Linda Sanchez.
