Los Angeles Lakers

From Conservapedia - Reading time: 1 min

The Los Angeles Lakers are a National Basketball Association team based in Los Angeles, California.

They were formed in 1944 when the team was started in Minneapolis (the Lakers name comes from Minnesota's claim as the "home of 10,000 lakes", a statement which is actually true, though most of them are extremely small). They won five championships from 1947 to 1960. Following that year, they moved to Los Angeles. From there they won ten more championships, and became second to the Boston Celtics for the most all time of any team. In 2020 they won their first championship in a decade and equaled the Celtics for the most all time, at 17 victories. They have also played in 32 championship series, the most of any franchise.

Due to their location in Los Angeles and their following by the Hollywood values elite, they appear on national TV far more than their record would indicate.
