Madison Square Garden, the self-titled "World's Most Famous Arena", is located in New York City and is home to the NBA's New York Knicks, the NHL's New York Rangers and professional wrestling and boxing events as well as various concerts and shows. Abbreviated as MSG, the arena is also often referred to as "The Garden".
Located in Midtown Manhattan, the current Madison Square Garden is the fourth version of the arena to bear that name, following previous Madison Square Gardens that were built in 1879, 1890 and 1925. Depending on the event and seating configuration, MSG can seat anywhere from 18,000 for ice hockey to almost 21,000 for boxing. It also contains an auxiliary theater space below the main arena, the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden (originally known as the Felt Forum when it first opened), which plays host to concerts, stage shows, meetings and occasional sports events.
