Mary of Egypt

Mary of Egypt (344 to 421 A.D.) Little is known for certain about her life. She led an immoral existence in Alexandria until her conversion to Christianity outside the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem in 380. After that she lived a solitary existence east of Jordan until her death 41 years later.

She was the subject of many popular legends.
