Mickie James (born August 31, 1979) is a professional wrestler currently working for World Wrestling Entertainment as part of its Raw brand.
James made her TNA debut in June 2002 under the ring name Alexis Laree. By 2003 she earned a higher profile role in the company and was added to Raven's new group known as The Gathering. The Gathering's goal was to help Raven in what was ultimately his unsuccessful attempt to defeat Jeff Jarrett for the TNA World Heavyweight title. She was injured in a July 2003 in a "Clockwork Orange House of Fun" match and left the company a short time later.
In late 2003, James signed with WWE and reported to their Ohio Valley Wrestling developmental group. While there she worked with future WWE wrestlers such as Jillian Hall, Melina and Beth Phoenix.
In 2005, James earned a promotion to WWE television. She dropped the Alexis Laree name and appeared under her real name. She was booked as an obsessed fan of then WWE Women's Champion Trish Stratus. James would interfere in several of Stratus' matches to help the latter retain the title.
