Moto GP is the premier form of motorcycle road racing. The main class is contested on 1000 cc four stroke machines, with the current champion being the Spaniard Jorge Lorenzo. The lower classes are Moto2, which is contested on 600cc four stroke machines, and moto3 which is contested on 250cc single cylinder four stroke machines with an open chassis formula.

The 2013 season began on 7 April 2013 in Qatar. The victor in that race was Jorge Lorenzo riding a factory Yamaha.

The next race takes place on the 19th April at the Circuit of the Americas in the US.
