Munro

From Conservapedia - Reading time: 1 min

A Munro is any distinct Scottish mountain over 3,000 feet in height. There are currently 284 mountains meeting this criteria. The list is occasionally revised as surveying techniques improve or arguments are settled over exactly what constitutes a ‘distinct’ mountain.

Many walkers in Britain attempt to complete the entire list of Murnos most of which are accessible to the average walker of reasonable fitness. The most difficult Munro, and the only one that requires genuine rock climbing ability, is the Inaccessible Pinnacle on the Isle of Skye.

This arrangement makes completing the list a genuine achievement and provides a wholesome, healthy outdoor activity encompassing all of Scotland and attainable by anyone.
