North Lincolnshire is a district of the East Midlands, England. North Lincolnshire is traditionally part of the Parts of Lindsey, Lincolnshire, but was removed from that county in the administrative reforms of 1974 and transferred to the new county of Humberside. On the abolition of Humberside in the 1990s, North Lincolnshire became a unitary authority. The main town is Scunthorpe; the district also includes the Isle of Axholme, birthplace of the Wesley brothers, and the towns of Brigg and Barton upon Humber, the latter place being the southern terminus of the Humber Bridge.
