Paula Abdul, born on June 19, 1962, in California, is a singer, songwriter, choreographer, and co-host of the television show American Idol. Paula first came into the public spotlight in the early 1980s as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers cheerleaders. Her album "Forever your Girl" was successful, going "platinum" and her single "Straight Up" became a #1 hit.[1] She has also made 2 exercise/dance videos. Paula has been married and divorced twice; once was to actor Emilio Estevez.
Paula has received a Grammy Award and a star on the Hollywood "Walk of Fame".[2]
